Dear Parents and Guardians,

It is now the middle of November and we are getting ready for Thanksgiving. I am so thankful to be working with you and your children to create a community of faith, learning and caring. 

The past few weeks have been very busy. We have a new Kindergarten teacher, Ms. Amanda Costa. She is wonderful. I am happy to know that our kindergarteners are in great hands! I am very happy to welcome her to Sacred Heart. 

Our Eighth graders took the TACHS exam at the beginning of the month. They are applying to wonderful schools. These include St. Francis Prep, Holy Cross, Regis, Molloy, Mary Louis Academy and more. I feel that these students represent the best of Sacred Heart as they prepare to leave here. Some of our students are also taking the SHSAT for the specialized high schools. They are applying to the Bronx High School of Science and Townsend Harris as well as other schools. 

This week we are having picture day on Friday, November 18th.  Children may wear Sunday best for the pictures.If they are not in Sunday best they must wear their uniforms.   Uniforms are acceptable and may be what you prefer.

November 23 - ½ Day No Afterschool

November 24 - Thanksgiving

November 25 - School Closed

November 27 - Beginning of Advent

November 28 - Lighting of School Advent wreath in the gym. 8:00 AM

December 8 - School Closed - Feast of the Immaculate Conception.

December 9 - 1/2 Day Report Card Conferences - teachers should be reaching out to you for appointments. 

December 10 - Breakfast with Santa
