Academic Excellence In a Tradition of Service
In collaboration with the families who entrust their children to us, we at Sacred Heart Catholic Academy strive to create a community that exhibits a strong Catholic Identity through Prayer, Worship and Service. We encounter Jesus through the proclamation of the Gospel message.
At Sacred Heart, students not only learn the 21st Century skills they will need to succeed in college or at their chosen careers, they will also learn to be moral, responsible citizens through the many service projects undertaken throughout each school year.
The faculty and staff of Sacred Heart Catholic Academy nurture the hearts, souls and minds of our students,
WE TEACH AS JESUS DID.
Our 8th grade consistently receives high school acceptances from all the Catholic High Schools and from many of the specialized academic and performing arts public high schools, such as Frank Sinatra, Townsend Harris, Bronx High School of Science, just to name a few. Many students earn scholarships to the Catholic schools worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. As of this writing the Class of 2017 has earned over $900, 000.00. We have two of our eighth grade young men who have earned a seat at Regis High School. One of our students earned a seat at BOTH Convent of the Sacred Heart and Marymount. Four of our students earned placement at Townsend Harris HS, one to Bronx Science, two to Laguardia HS and one to the City College HS of Engineering and Science. Our student achieve great things!
Our students participate successfully in contests throughout the school year. Sacred Heart Catholic Academy participates in the History Day competition This year we have seven teams entering History Day. The theme this year is “Taking a Stand in History”. This year, Audra Jacino ,from our third grade, was recognized by Assemblyman Braunstein for her Halloween art work. One of our eighth grade girls, Mia Ortiz is currently working on a dance performance based on the musical Hamilton.
We are very proud of all of our students, each one works hard each and every day!

Following in the traditions of our founding sisters, the Sisters of Mercy, at Sacred Heart Catholic Academy service is a way of life. We teach our children, from the start that we are called to be the hands and feet of God, that we have to do the work of God here on earth. Our children are taught to recognize the needs that exists in our global community and to find a small way to satisfy those needs. In this way we live our Mission Statement; to teach as Jesus did.
Through this service we proclaim and live our Catholic Identity.
