  • Mathematics Chapter 3 Test is on Wednesday, December 12th.  Please go over the Practice Test.
  • Thursday, December 13th is Report Card Conference Day.  Please be prompt for your appointment.  Dismissal is at 11:30.  
  • Physical Education Class will be on Wednesday and Friday this week.
  • December Book Report Holiday is due Friday, December 14th
  • 9 o’clock Class Mass is Friday, December 14th

Dear Parents,

This week is a short week.  We have an 11:30 dismissal Wednesday (NO AFTER SCHOOL) and no school on Thursday and Friday.  We will be going to the 9 0’clock Mass on Wednesday, as a school and then come back and have a little Thanksgiving snack celebration.  If you would like to bring in a special treat/goodie bag, that would be fine.  There will be no spelling or reading units this week.   Thank you very much for your generous contributions to the food drive. I want to wish all of you all a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving.  God bless.

Dear Parents,

I hope everyone enjoyed their four-day weekend.  I just want to update you on a few reminders and let you know what’s coming ahead.  This week in language, the children will be working on the naming part and action part of a sentence.  You and I learned this as the subject and predicate of a sentence.  He’s an example: The five children played a game.  The five children is the naming part and played a game is the action part.  Therefore, this week as part of your spelling homework, I would like the children to underline the naming part of their sentences and circle the action part.  Thursday, November 15th is our Religion Test on Chapters 11 and 12.  On Friday, November 16th, the Mystery book report is due.  Our extra Physical Education Class is Friday.  There will be no reading or spelling tests next week

Dear Parents,
Congratulations to all the children who received the Sacrament of Reconciliation on Saturday. They did a great job!
• This Wednesday will be our language test on the 4 kinds of sentence. Please go over the practice sheets I sent home on Thursday.
• This Friday, November 9th is a Professional Day for teachers. School will be closed for students. Due to this closure we will have our Spelling and Reading tests on Thursday. Spelling homework for Monday and Tuesday will be 7 words each night. The test will be on 14 words and 5 dictated sentences.
• Also, there will be no school on Monday, November 12th to celebrate Veterans Day.
• Our Mystery Book Report is due Friday, November 16th. We will also have our class Mass that day.
• I would like to test Chapters 11 and 12 next Thursday, November 15th. We covered the chapters already and I was waiting for the children to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
• Please send in box tops.

Dear Parents,

This is the last week of October.  On Wednesday, we are invited to support the fifth grade Halloween Cupcake Sale.  The children can buy cupcakes, a drink, and raffles.  If you want to send in a goodie bag for your child to give out for Halloween, that is fine.  Remember this is optional.  Thursday, November 1st, is All Saints Day and Friday, November 2nd, is All Souls Day and the first Friday of the month.  We will go to the 9 0’clock Mass with the rest of the school on both days.  On Saturday, November 3rd some children will receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation at 11 o’clock.  Let us keep these children in our prayers.  Also, Daylight Savings Time Ends this weekend.  Don’t forget to turn your clocks back one hour before you go to sleep on Saturday evening.  Friday, November 9th, school is closed for a Professional Day.

I hope everyone enjoyed the 3-day weekend.  Our spelling homework this week has changed because of Columbus Day.  The children will write 8 words on Tuesday and 7 words on Wednesday.  This Friday will be our first class Mass.  We will go to the 9 o’clock Mass and some of the children will read.  Our Physical Education Class  this week will only be on Wednesday.  I do have some future tests coming up.
