March Letter From Mrs. Conlan

Dear Parents and Guardians,

March is arriving and with it, a month full of events.Looking back at February we had the Book Fair. We also had a wonderful Valentine’s Day Teddy- grams. Thank you to the parents who worked so hard to make that happen. Mrs. Miranda ( Grade 6 parent) made the wonderful chocolate treats that our children and teachers received.

I would like to thank Mrs. DeBenedittis for coordinating the Scholastic Book Fair. It was a great opportunity for our children to do something different in a more relaxed environment.  Thank you to the parents who were able to come, help set up and assist the children in selecting books. We wouldn’t have been able to run it without them. The book fair raised $2,000 that we can use to order classroom libraries, tech and stem equipment.

Thank you to all of those who joined the virtual State of the Academy meeting in February. The recording of this meeting will be posted on the school website under the About section.

Registration for new families has started and Mrs. Kaouris will be contacting you regarding re-registration. The link will be made available to you through email this week. I apologize for the delay. The FACTS system is unique and it has taken some time for us to master it. Please click on the link that was sent.  Mrs. Barker will be contacting you regarding registration fees and tuition.

The COGNIA virtual visit will take place March 16 – 18.  Some parents will be contacted to sit in on the virtual meetings. Teachers, the Board, Staff and I will be interviewed as well. This accreditation process will be finished that week and we will receive notice of passing the following week.

Thank you to those of you who purchased or sold boxes for our Football Fundraiser. We sold all of the boxes last week and we will make $3,000. Thank you to Mrs. Fressle for having coordinated this fundraiser.

Save the date for the Sacred Heart Walk A Thon on May 2nd. This year we will be asking for business sponsorships as well as family support. These new sponsorships will include signs that will display a business or family name at Crocheron Park and around the school building. If you know of any business that you use, such as dentists, pediatricians, etc. There will also be an opportunity for leveled sponsorships for anyone wishing to make a larger contribution.

Click on the link to let us know which of these businesses we can contact. Or we can send you the paperwork and you can present it yourself in person or through email. Please fill our the form to let us know who we can contact.   The Walk A Thon is our largest fundraiser. It helps us to meet the tuition differential and allows us to plan for school facility improvements.

Many thank to Mr. Libby and Mr. Spordone for coordinating the work on two rooms that needed to be done after Hurricane Ida. The Faculty room and the corner classroom on the elementary floor have been fully renovated.

I have read the news that Governor Hocul is changing the mask regulations for school on March 2nd. As soon as guidance is received from the diocese I will be happy to share it with you. Please be patient. Children should still come in wearing masks.

I hope you enjoyed the week off. I look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.

Best, Mrs. Conlan
