Principal’s Message November

November 2019

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Isn’t it amazing how this school year continues to move quickly? This weekend our Eighth graders will be taking the TACHS Exam. This test will help determine what High School they will be attending after graduating from Sacred Heart.

Please keep them in your prayers.

Yesterday was the Veterans Day Celebration. I was so proud of our students as they sang and recited to the community of Veterans that came.  We also had representatives from Fort Totten. Sixth and second grade were very impressive in their participation. Many thanks to Mrs. Marsar Farrell, Ms. Shrinivas and Mrs. Valmond. Their work with the students was outstanding.

Tomorrow, Friday, November 8th,  school is closed for an EPAC meeting. PK4 All will be in session on that day. Our teachers will be with their peers from other schools receiving training. For the first half of the day they will be participating in active shooter training. This is a scary and  a necessary thing to do. It goes hand in hand with the security grant that we are working on. Please remember that there will be no after care on this Friday.

We are currently running 3 service projects. The two I have mentioned before are: Collecting gently used clothing for  Bridge for Life and the collection of used dance costumes. This month, until December 1 we will be partnering with Laffey Real Estate to help collect toys for Easter Seals.  It is a worthwhile effort. You will be hearing of other opportunities to give throughout the Holiday Season.

Breakfast with Santa will be on December 7th in the Parish Hall.  More details will be sent out soon.

I wish you all a good weekend. Enjoy the four days off.

Regards,

Mrs. Conlan
