Welcome to Sacred Heart Catholic Academy of Bayside!

Sacred Heart offers your child an innovative and challenging academic experience from Nursery through Grade 8. Both students and teachers learn from each other as they follow the teachings of Jesus on a daily basis. Faith based character education is a gift that remains with our students even after they have left Sacred Heart Catholic Academy.

Before and aftercare is available to all students and families. Our afterschool and in school programs include a Scouts program for Girls and Boys, CYO and Intramural Sports, Art Club,  and more. We are also thrilled to have a STEAM Lab for all Grades. Our Grade 8 students attend Convent of the Sacred Heart, Kellenberg, St. Mary’s High School, St. Francis Prep, The Mary Louis Academy, Holy Cross High School and Regis. Scholarships this year will totaled over $350,000 for the students going to Catholic High Schools.

How to Apply

To apply to Sacred Heart Catholic Academy in grades K-8, you must provide the following information :

  • Online Application Form
  • Copy of Birth Certificate or Passport
  • Copy of Baptismal Certificate (if Roman Catholic)
  • Copy of Immunization Records
  • Annual Physical (form included in packet)
  • Copy of most current Report Card and prior year Final Report Card (if transferring from another school)
  • Copy of Individualized Education Plan (IEP) an/or 504 ( if applicable)
  • Registration Fee – $350 per child, capped at $450 per family and an administrative fee from FACTS - $20 per child for new familes

Sacred Heart’s program is an active exploration in an environment which is rich in materials and opportunities to pray, converse, socialize, work, play and interact with others. The classrooms are planned to encourage curiosity, exploration and problem solving in a faith filled atmosphere of warmth, affection and respect for each child.  

Teachers plan experiences based on children’s interests and appropriate educational concepts. Children will work individually and collaboratively while being involved in experiences which include foundations of Math, Science, Social Studies, Creative Art, Language Arts, Music, Movement and Dramatic Play. All interrelated aspects of the child’s growth and development are considered so they include the intellectual, social, emotional, spiritual, physical and creative.

We follow the Units of Study related to the NYC curriculum.
