Academic Excellence In a Tradition of Service

Mission Statement

In collaboration with the families who entrust their children to us, we at Sacred Heart Catholic Academy strive to create a community that exhibits a strong Catholic Identity through Prayer, Worship and Service. We encounter Jesus through the proclamation of the Gospel message.
At Sacred Heart, students not only learn the 21st Century skills they will need to succeed in college or at their chosen careers, they will also learn to be moral, responsible citizens through the many service projects undertaken throughout each school year. The faculty and staff of Sacred Heart Catholic Academy nurture the hearts, souls and minds of our students, WE TEACH AS JESUS DID.

Successes

Our 8th grade consistently receives high school acceptances from all the Catholic High Schools and from many of the specialized academic and performing arts public high schools, such as: Frank Sinatra, Townsend Harris, Bronx High School of Science, just to name a few.

Many students earn scholarships to the Catholic schools worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.  As of this writing the Class of 2021 has earned over $350,000. We are very proud of all of our students, each one works hard each and every day!

Service

Students in Sacred Heart Catholic Academy participate in many service activities to help people in need such as:

  • School-wide food drives
  • Raising funds to donate to St. Francis Breadline with our Trunk or Treat Halloween event.
  •  Donating “extra” candy to our service men and women serving abroad
  •  Collecting children’s coats for distribution throughout the city

Following in the traditions of our founding sisters, the Sisters of Mercy, at Sacred Heart Catholic Academy service is a way of life. We teach our children, from the start that we are called to be the hands and feet of God, that we have to do the work of God here on earth. Our children are taught to recognize the needs that exists in our global community and to find a small way to satisfy those needs. In this way we live our Mission Statement; to teach as Jesus did.

Through this service we proclaim and live our Catholic Identity.
